Hi guys wanted some advice, I’m buying a highly spec used c class from Mercedes dealership, and the car was advertised 33k miles, but yesterday as I finalized the deal I realised the mileage is at 37k, personally I thought they should give me a service plan or knock some money off the car for the extra 4k miles?

Hmmm tricky, the car was not as described but you did have the chance to inspect the vehicle before you purchased it, so you could have walked away or challenged them on this.Originally posted by John124 View PostHi guys wanted some advice, I’m buying a highly spec used c class from Mercedes dealership, and the car was advertised 33k miles, but yesterday as I finalized the deal I realised the mileage is at 37k, personally I thought they should give me a service plan or knock some money off the car for the extra 4k miles?
You may have the right to reject the goods under the CRA 2015 but if you wanted to keep the vehicle you could try and negotiate a reduction in the price, not sure what the extra 4k would be worth, probably a couple of free services if im honestI work for Roach Pittis Solicitors. Hmm yeah true, but I haven’t paid for the car yet, it’s just been finalized and ready to pay and pick up tomorrow. If the car was cheap I wouldn’t have cared about 2/4k miles but cos it’s around 20k that couple of thousand mileage makes a difference. So what do you think I should do when I go to pick the car up tomorrow?

well i would say that if you take the car tomorrow then you do so in full knowledge of the fault or issue, so id suggest that you raise this mileage issue before you collect it, ask them ot explain the discrepancy, and whether they are willing to reduce the price, if not you walk away simple as thatOriginally posted by John124 View PostHmm yeah true, but I haven’t paid for the car yet, it’s just been finalized and ready to pay and pick up tomorrow.
