  • HMRC trying to take tax credit payments back while she was single.

Hello all, HMRC have sent my partner a letter asking for the £580 she claimed while she was single, Feb-May 2016, when me and my partner met she rang up and told them she had a partner and to stop the credits. Nearly 2 years on and there now saying because she claimed the £580 while she was single and they can see she met me after the 3 months she owes it back, and they want my partners salary and mine to sort a payment plan. Surely this isn't right?? Can anyone help??
    Many thanks.
