I bought a Ford Fiesta Ecoboot (2014 plate, 23,700 miles) on HP (startline motor finance) from arnold clark on 09/11/2017 (with 60 day warranty ending on 09/01/2018). two days after i bought the car the service light and EML came on and went off several times. This continued for several weeks. i eventually took it back to the dealership (arnold calark) on 24/11/2018. They checked the car and said there were 3 fault codes which the mechanics have never seen so they cleared it drove and gave it back to me without consulting the manufacturer.
Again on the 14/12/2017 i had problems with the breaks feeling extremely light and i had to floor them on till the car would eventually start. Took the car back to the dealer on the 14/11 and they replaced the discs and so on and gave the car back. The same problem happened again as overtime the car brakes became light over a period of a few day (6-7 days).
On the 20/12/2017 the engine management light came on and the car would stall in its own when i turned it and I had to switch on ignition multiple times and still the engine management light and service light would stay on. i took the car back to the dealer on 27/12/2017. after which they took until the 9/11/2017 to repair the car which was extremely inconvenient for me as my dad is disabled and I am his only means of transfer. during repair i contacted Arnold clark and was told the same codes as last time plus some other fault codes are showing up, there was also problem with cylinder firing as only on if the three was working, the car was pulling to one side and there was also problems with the electronics. They told me that the mechanics didn’t know how to fix it and had to contact ford and took the car on several test drives and told me that the car would work and then stop working again. but apparently right after i went to the dealership and rejected the car verbally on the 06/01/2018, the car was magically fixed.
I rejected the car formally on the 10/11/2018 through startline motor finance. they have investigated and have decided to not uphold my rejection because I signed the repair papers. even though it is clearly a faulty vehicle which is unreliable plus the fact that if this repair was attempted on the 24/11/2018 i would of rejected the car but arnold clark just gave the car back to me without finding the fault and just ignoring the codes they did not understand. This car is unreliable for its age and millage which classes it as fairly new.
I will now be placing a complain through financial ombudsman!? but can anyone tell me what are my chances of them upholding my complain. I am heavily depressed because of this and am currently seeing a psychiatrist.
