Mistake on Paddy Power Mobile Betting App

I placed a bet online through the Paddy Power mobile app today (1^st January 2018).
The bet was who would be the next president after FrançoisHollande, which we all know was Emmanuel Macron and this election was back inMay 2017.


Paddy Power have said sorry for the confusion and want me to void the bet and I don’t want to, because I believe I am wright in this matter.


They have been trying to wriggle out of this bet by saying the market terms are specified on my bet when it was not.


They also keep claiming there is no error on their website and I never claimed there was, however I am claiming there is an error on their mobile betting app which they never acknowledged.

1, it clearly states who will be the next FrenchPresident after François Hollande and this is also clearly stated by aninformation marker for the bet I was placing.


What I would like to know are they obliged to pay out for an error that I found in their mobile betting app?

A bet is a contract by which two parties or more agree that a certain sum of money, or other thing, shall be paid or delivered to one of them, on the happening or not happening of an uncertain event.
As the event you were betting on was not uncertain, but had already happened, regardless of any T&Cs you are not going to be able to progress this beyond a tiff with Paddy and hope just possibly of getting a free bet or two.

I think this thing should be solved face to face and you would find a solution. More than that, this is a common procedure, when somebody finds an error and report about it, he is gaining a money reward, don't know why is that happening to you. But as far as I know, this should not happen with a betting app, because people can lose their money, and this is a very common way of scamming. So that's why you better change your betting app, until you haven't lost your money, who knows what kind of scamming they will invent next time.
