    In some police authorities an interview maybe conducted by an " investigator".
    In best practices two persons should be present.

      I would suggest allways apply for a copy of the video/tape if you have been interviewed.

      The difference between the recorded, and summoriesd written copy can be vastly different if not.

      There would be no need to make a seporate recording, what [MENTION=39710]des8[/MENTION] said is the important past
      If you have been "invited" to a voluntary interview (possibly under caution?) forget your phone and take a solicitor (the duty solicitor if you can't afford your own).

        I am sure that the Telecommunications Act comes in to play when recording any form of voice.

        You must gain the person's consent to record and stop if requested. If you do this covertly, or continue to record after a request to stop, then your recording becomes inadmissable in a court of law.

        Forget the recording and as [MENTION=39710]des8[/MENTION] says, get a solicitor!
