  • Consumer purchase

Hi I made a purchase of a £50 wine voucher to be apply at virgin wines....... when I processed this I was able in my basket to purchase more than 10,000 pounds worth wine with one voucher plus 7.99 delivery.
This was a obvious mistake on there website!. ( to which there management have confirmed)
But my order had been taken and receipt were given. Also when the consignment was passed on to parcelforce , they confirmed my order is with them and due for delivery .
But right at the last mom virgin management team have stopped the order due to there website fault and in the terms & conditions states only one voucher per customer. Therefore they are within rights to cancel the order.
I wish to know if they are obligated to the sale? Can they recall the items even though I have receipt for these goods .
(Virgin contacted parcelforce and said even though a mistake on there behalf the goods were not to be passed on to me.
Love to know the legal stance on this matter

    Hi,
As this was a genuine mistake I don't think you can benefit from it and Virgin is entitled to stop the order and refund your voucher. It's not as if you did not know that this was an error and made an attempt to benefit from it.

If the order had been an error that you did Not know about it may be a different situation.

Did you place the order prior to discovering it was an error (it seems as if this was the case) albeit at the time you thought it might be too good to be true?

How and when did you learn of the Terms & Conditions limiting the voucher use i.e. at the point of sale or did Virgin produce them after the error was noticed?

How did you pay for the order, was it on a credit card?
