Hello i recently became power of attorney for my sister who has had mental issues for a long time her money was always looked after by Mental health concern then when she went into a private home it was the finance dept of the local council, today i had a letter from DWP stating she has been overpaid since 2013 by £22365.35p the are taking £3.70 per week from her till 24th September 2035 how can they blame her as she has never filled a form in always had someone look after her money she does have £15,000 in bank but some was left to her by our parents will they take her savings if anything happens to my sister, i find it sad as she didnt claim someone in authority did it for her.

DWP should have information on whom filled in the forms, a polite request my get more information.

I rang them today but didnt get much information the man actually laughed when i said reading the letter made me feel sick, my sister hasnt got capability to fill any forms in
