  • Grievance / tribunal

    Hi all
I've started the process of raising a grievance against my employer as I was harassed whilst off work sick with stress related anxiety.
Ive used the company's correct procedures and area director would now like to meet with me.
Am I entitled to take someone with me? Does it have to be a work colleague or union rep. Technically I'm not employed with them as of yesterday.

I would like to take my brother who is high up in his role and knows more hr procedures than myself

Yes you are entitled to be accompanied and it is usually by a work colleague or union rep. Unless specified in the company's procedure that you can be accompanied by a person other than a work colleague or union rep you don't have a right to bring anyone else although you can ask your now ex-employer if someone else can accompany you, but they don't have to agree to this.

The only other time when someone else can accompany is if you're disabled, the your ex-employer should make reasonable adjustments to accommodate your disability. It may be a reasonable adjustment for them to allow someone else, such as your carer to accompany you.
If you would like a one-to-one expert consultation with me on your employment issue than I can be contacted by emailing admin@legalbeaglesgroup.com

I do not provide advice by PM although I may on occasion ask you to send me documents this way but any related advice will be provided back on your thread.

I do my best to provide good practical advice, however I do so without liability.
