  • Builder walked off site - job uncompleted

    Hello,

I wonder if anyone can help, please?

After a problematic relationship our builder has finallybailed, refusing to complete the project. There isn’t that much left to do (inthe big scheme of things!) but it does mean someone else will have to completethe work (plumbing/carpentry) and to bring the site up to standard overall (thecontract said the site would be left in the same condition or better).

Also, there is the matter of ‘building control inspections (thefinal one is remaining) and also of the relevant certificates.

Builder says he will invoice for final payment, even thoughthis is due on completion. All otherinvoices are paid in full.

    Do we have any rights?

Any help or support would be gratefully received. Thank you.

    Hi
I think we need to know more about the problems and the contract.
Most of your rights are contained in the Consumer Rights Act 2015 http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/...ntents/enacted
