  • Effect on pension of instant dismissal

    Hi all,

Having been summarily dismissed after nearly 20 years, am I right to believe that the company must still provide details of my pension, in order for me to transfer its value to a new provider? Also, they must pay any outstanding holiday?

    Cheers,

    Germo

    Hi
I believe you have two options with your pension
    1) leave it where it is and collect it at the appropriate time
    2) Transfer its value

I would think carefully about what you do and it will depend on the type of pension you have and the type of pension the new scheme is.

If for example you were on a final salary scheme it may be worth leaving it where it is- don't take my word for it though have it checked out .

As for the Holiday pay, yes they should pay any outstanding holiday pay although only pro rata for the holiday year you were in

This is also worth a look

Found them good in the past.
