I keep getting spam posts from here in my email, asking me to buy all sorts of weird and wonderfull things. I assume you know as they have vanished now but my partner said they are generated by 'bots' and apparently there is away of stopping them... He did go on to explain but in went in one ear and out the other

    Thanks Mocha

We have had several visits from spam bots, they are immediately banned. I'll ask about these spam emails though as I haven't heard about this before.
"Although scalar fields are Lorentz scalars, they may transform nontrivially under other symmetries, such as flavour or isospin. For example, the pion is invariant under the restricted Lorentz group, but is an isospin triplet (meaning it transforms like a three component vector under the SU(2) isospin symmetry). Furthermore, it picks up a negative phase under parity inversion, so it transforms nontrivially under the full Lorentz group; such particles are called pseudoscalar rather than scalar. Most mesons are pseudoscalar particles." (finally explained to a captivated Celestine by Professor Brian Cox on Wednesday 27th June 2012 )

I'm a moderator on another forum, and we kinda get used to spam bots joining up, we have managed to gather a collection of domains to ban, but they seem to get round that too, so we just have to keep an eye on new users and any that look dodgy get the delete treatment.

The only way I know of to stop prevent them is to have one of those ever changing alpha/number text boxes that you have to fill in. Bots can't do that, but I don't know how you would set one up.
