  • NatWest Blitzkreig- Day Seven- We do refund and now you know how much.

I have built this up big time but i know there is better information but I have concrete details for Credit Cards for a period of June 2004 to May 2005.
We Refunded charges to the tune of almost 14 MILLION POUNDS
860,000 refunds to approximately 538,000 accounts.
Late Fees counts for 43%(about 369,800) of the number and 49%(£6,860,000) of the value
Purchase interest is 42%(361,200) of the number and 38%(£5,320,000) of the value
22,102 accounts received more than 4 refunds
80,840 were awarded refunds of more than £50.

This may not be jaw dropping and the figures have been worked out by me from the statistics that have been passed on to me.

I don't believe it! The rotten so and so's wouldn't refund me with a single penny when I had my credit card with them. The out and out pigs! And I didn't know you could reclaim the purchase interest............... thought that was a dead deal??? Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!

Hedgey please note the dates which is 2004/05 that date is important to note, the figures are slightly dated and was before people started claiming charges back as a legal right.

I understand what you're saying Nattie, but they finally defaulted me in October 2005 after months of me trying to negotiate with them (and, very unladylike of me I know but I also begged and cried a couple of times an' all!!!) I honestly can't believe that at the same time they were stitching me up (which it felt like at the time) they were also refunding 14 million to others (give or take a few quid). I'm feeling a bit peeved now.................. so I'm deffo reclaiming from them and I want me blo*dy default removed an' all!!!!!! xx

Remember that the charges will have to equal more that the amount defaulted for you to be successful. I hope you are.

That's the thing though Nattie, they only defaulted me by about £175 (fully paid up and showing as 'settled' which is about as much good to my credit rating as an ashtray on a motorbike!) I had that much in charges in about four months with the scheming toerags (sorry for being rude - but that's mild compared to what I just called 'em to me hubby!!!) - so I dread to think what the actual charges tally up to over the couple of years I had the card. Shylocks!!!! xx

Well I'm gob smacked, if they paid back 14 mill in 12 months, before everyone started claiming, how many mills profit did they make? Why did they pay them back, were they asked to, or were they mistakes?

I have no way of being able to tell why it was all paid back, without doubt there is an element of bank error involved, otherwise the service would be 100% which no industry can do.
