  • oh hell i'm finding this disturbing !!! need to talk about it.

I'm sitting here looking through the threads etc and my skype link has started flashing. So I take a peek, its not anyone that i recognise at all, in fact the name is in Russian text (or so I think). Convo as follows:
    Russian: Hello
    Me: Hello
    Russian: How are you ?
    Me: fine thank you:
Russian: How old are you ?
Me: why do you want to know ?
    Russian: I am interesting
    Me: tell me then
    Russian: I don't know
Me: what do you want, who are you
    then loads of smilees etc
this carries on and then says its a girl,

now guys this is seriously weird, and I said gotta go bye, Has anyone else experienced this at all.

Yes, Ive had a guy call me on skype phone from oz and a couple of similar convos on chat to yours.

Have you got your skype set to 'skype me'?

You want the icon with the clear tick, not the one with the smily face.

Click your skype button to change status.

"Although scalar fields are Lorentz scalars, they may transform nontrivially under other symmetries, such as flavour or isospin. For example, the pion is invariant under the restricted Lorentz group, but is an isospin triplet (meaning it transforms like a three component vector under the SU(2) isospin symmetry). Furthermore, it picks up a negative phase under parity inversion, so it transforms nontrivially under the full Lorentz group; such particles are called pseudoscalar rather than scalar. Most mesons are pseudoscalar particles." (finally explained to a captivated Celestine by Professor Brian Cox on Wednesday 27th June 2012 )

Thanks hun I felt rather uncomfortable with that, have now changed the tick to grey/clear tick, hopefully I'll get no more now.

How do they get the contact details then? I thought if you added someone you had to send them a message and then they had to add you to their contacts...

They just search for names/people and then hit on you, I have had a few trying to make contact with me, but if I don't know them then i just decline their invitation to chat.

I chat with enough wierdos for work, don't want to do it in real life!

Well it depend which user's posts you were reading as I have a different user name over there, it starts with a J and finishes with an F

As to my accent, well popped out and dragged up in Manchester (North bit) and then lived in Yorkieland, and now in Burnley, so it's Manc with a heavy tinge of Lancashire.

Added to the fact they my voice is a bit shrieky at the best of times

Sounds like mine... Essex with a hint of Yorkshire! Not good. I miss my proper Essex accent (no doubt someone will be along shortly to abuse me) as for growing up - NEVER!
