IDS should grow a pair and resign (not for this) but for the SHAMBLES he left the whole benefits system in

      His resignation letter: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-35848891

I have for some time and rather reluctantly come to believe that the latest changes to benefits to the disabled and the context in which they've been made are, a compromise too far. While they are defensible in narrow terms, given the continuing deficit, they are not defensible in the way they were placed within a Budget that benefits higher earning taxpayers. They should have instead been part of a wider process to engage others in finding the best way to better focus resources on those most in need.

Hopefully him going is just the tip of a melting iceberg.
The benefits system does need reform, no doubt it is abused in many situations all across the board. It was set up initially to help people get back on their feet not keep them in designer trainers etc.
Sadly the ones the clone clowns are trying to hit (but I doubt will happen ) are the ones who have no need for trainers, couldn't put trainers on without assistance or even have the ability to ask for a pair of trainers.
Shame on them and the sooner they are gone the better, far as I'm concerned their 'growing economy' should be rammed up their pompous arses as far as it will go.

IDS voted for cuts to ESA not so long ago ... to say he's quitting as a result of cuts to Disability Benefits is a load of b******t

The thing is it affects those in the ESA 'Work Group' not those in the 'Support Group.' In my view, the difference is not medical in that one disability is worse or has lasted longer, it has likely come down to who was the most persuasive, who used a lawyer, who had taken it to a tribunal, who was examined by a GP, or who was examined by a nurse or other, in my view, lesser suitably qualified staff. In economic terms I believe the ESA populations' payments in terms of the UK economy's public spending is relatively very small.
