Re: Batten down the hatches folks

I'm 10 miles north of Brighton and it has been horrendous.
High winds all night and day, guttering blown off house, branches all over roads, trees down, power cuts etc etc
Seems to be calming a bit now. Fingers crossed.
"Although scalar fields are Lorentz scalars, they may transform nontrivially under other symmetries, such as flavour or isospin. For example, the pion is invariant under the restricted Lorentz group, but is an isospin triplet (meaning it transforms like a three component vector under the SU(2) isospin symmetry). Furthermore, it picks up a negative phase under parity inversion, so it transforms nontrivially under the full Lorentz group; such particles are called pseudoscalar rather than scalar. Most mesons are pseudoscalar particles." (finally explained to a captivated Celestine by Professor Brian Cox on Wednesday 27th June 2012 )

It's been extremely windy again here (and thats not just cos of the curry hubby ate last night!) and plenty of that horrible really wet rain that soaks you to the bone! I didn't just walk the school run, I flew it!

Well tis wild here, very blustery and raining hard. Heard one or two wheelie bins on the move, why cant people put them back when the bin men have been?
Anyway it woke me up and as I can't seem to nod off again once I wake, I am on here and having a few brews. Well just about read everything I missed last night and ages to go before the rest arise. Think I'll try for another kip.
