    Re: EU Referendum

    If I could live somewhere other than England I would (know idead where though) I dont like what our so called great nation is turning into. Saying that, I wouldn't want us to be part of an even bigger mafia family (allegedly) than the one we have already (labour).

    We have spent many 100's of years defending our country, our king's/queen's and our lives to ensure we stave away those who wish to penetrate this sovereign state, and dispose of our identity that has given our country the status it has now got in world power and economic power.

    Lets party :whoo::whoo:

      Definition of Member States so not necessarily a term only used for the European Union but the United Nations as well.

      What it is to be British or English? Define it please.
      Are you seriously comparing membership of the United Nations with membership of the EU?

        Re: EU Referendum

        Cet,you can clearly see that it is a definition of member state, nothing more and nothing less. You could suggest that the useage of Member state loosens the tie to and individual countries identity when the use of the term is simply that, a term.

          so people can make an informed choice with the reading of the treaty signed.

            Have just heard that they have decided not to let us have a say.

            When will these people learn that they are there to serve us and not the other way round?

              That is not the way the EU works.

              In a recent vote on the subject of the Lisbon Treaty the European Parliament voted overwhelmingly against an amendment that they should respect the result of the Irish Referendum.

              The EU is incompetent and the "free market" - on the EU's own admission - costs 3 to 4 times any supposed benefits. We are losing between £50bn and £100bn a year because of membership due in part to uncontrolled immigration, that we can never control while we remain members. The EU is destroying much of what made Britain great. Most EU leaders are liars, crooks, "ex" Communists and/or charlatans. The "Not the Constitution" being imposed by surely the most blatant and hypocritical political process since Stalin - habeas corpus, jury trial and all our other freedoms are being removed. Article 51 of the Charter of Fundamental Rights authorises the EU to remove any and all of those rights at any time "if it is in the interests of the EU."

              The EU's principal aim is to get its own way, irrespective of the democratic feelings of its member states.

              Things are going to get a great deal worse too.
