      Re: The 'GRUMBLE' thread.

Damn stupid people in suits that work for the education department and the county council that decided that we didn't need 9 high schools in the area, they wanted better social cohesion and integration, so they came up with the wonderful plan of 'schools for the future'

9 schools became 5 schools, kids had to put up with the upheaval of moving to temporary premises while they had shiny new schools built, and now we have the dubious honour of having 3 out of the 5 on 'special measures' because they are failing. My daughter's school being the 3rd one as leaked to the local press today, ahead of the Ofsted report going to the school.

They were moved into the old 6th form college, they are dealing with portacabins for classrooms, have had no support and also have to cope with the neighbouring school (there's a playing field between them) having stabbings, drugs and now onsite police! (this is the neighbouring school)

I have nothing but admiration for the head and the staff, they have done a sterling job. They do the best for the kids in their care.

It's the ones in the Ed dept and county council that have decided the shaft thousands of kids futures with all this upheaval and the poor kids now have on their reports that they are attending a failing school.

So teachers now have to come up with an action plan, when they should be educating, they are all demoralised, just what an impact all this messing about with education is doing I hate to imagine.

Oh, the good news is that my son has got into that school, yep we also had the lottery system for intakes this time round!

Just let that county councillor come round canvassing for votes, you know who you are, and you should be aware that an awful lot of parents are angry with what you have done to our kids!

Sorry, rant over, but I am really angry with all this.

why do kids (okay he is 18) think it is okay not to call when they are going to be late home,he is normally home by about 1am it was 3am today, mobiles are handy when they actually answer them.

All I ask is a quick call to let me know is that too much?,I do worry probably too much, but they have a long drive home on small country roads.

I can remember my Mum saying exactly the same about my brother. One evening he only went to the cashpoint, he didn't come home for 3 days.

She was going nuts, but at the time I thought it was because he had her car.
