    Re: Ennngalund

It's ironic that Italy should have pushed England out, TWICE! First by winning, then by losing!

      Re: Ennngalund

I think a lot of people on here actually thought England stood a chance of getting through their group. I certainly did not have my delusional cap on at all. I didn't expect Uruguay or Italy to join England though .

Realistically, we have to take the positives from this. We have a young team excluding Gerrard(likely casualty after the final game), and some players out injured that can come in(Walcott, Oxlade Chamberlain...who might play the last game) and a relatively new defence(Jagielka and Baines with Cahill and Johnson). I felt that this World Cup was about experience and Sterling has played well in his two games against Italy and Uruguay(yes I jumped from my seat after two minutes of the England game). Hart for a keeper is young at 26 so has a number of years in him(and he avoided blunders that blighted Seaman and Greene's England days).

You need to take heart that in the next Euro Championships, England stand a very good chance of doing well and with a European World Cup afterwards in 2018 then there is no issues of sea level acclimatisation.
This World Cup 2014 has been very positive despite the two losses 2-1. And at least our goal difference will be better than Spain the defending world champions so clearly we are better than them(although considering Brazilian secret Agent Costa played for Spain then what did they expect).

Keep the faith for 2016 European Championships in France

That's certainly the way Rio Ferdinand is seeing things after watching him being interviewed. It makes sense to build from the ground up when things aren't working, so let's hope it works.

Thats easy for you to say now you know the results , I never thought we had a chance .... but that does not mean I never wanted us to do well and feel gutted that we are on our way home

I'll bring it back to fun!

Is anyone else enjoying Google's World Cup doodles like I am? I think they're great - I hadn't realised till last night you can actually click to see loads of previous ones as well.

I felt going into the World Cup Finals that we didn't have a strong team and was surprised at how well we played in the games against Italy and Uruguary, despite two defeats.

, I never thought we had a chance .... but that does not mean I never wanted us to do well and feel gutted that we are on our way home
I'm not gutted at all that we are on our way home especially when my expectations was that we would finish 3rd in the group behind Uruguay and Italy. Suarez was in great form and so if he played against England, they would lose(Uruguay will probably go out now that he is no longer in their team against Colombia).

In the World Cup, the pressure is intense and the team was not a mix of talent and experience. You have to feel disappointed that they didn't get a result in the tough games because they played so well, but that means that your expectations can increase even more for the European Championships because we are gonna do well(i've said this now before I get my balls out and check ).

I won't suggest I'll eat my own hat if I'm wrong......

so the question has to be asked(if you're not scottish ) Who are you supporting now?
