    Re: Gary Barlow

I very much doubt he didn't know what was going on with his money, he wanted to protect his millions and he was given the chance to do it. Hands up anyone who would not try this at home if you could and get away with it.
There is a massive hole in our system that helps the haves, while the have nots suffer corruption and lies at every level.
If the Clone Clowns spent as much time, money and energy chasing those that owe the pot rather than crippling them that can't put in the pot we would imo be the richest country in the world and wouldn't need to be stuck to a crippled continnent that as far as I can work out takes far more from us than gives.

Its darn right scammin behaviour...which most of us would do because we all for some reason think the tax man is un just thing that gives us sht so we can dodge it if we can...thats why we got laws.
Same as anyone buying fake DVD`s or jeans your mate has in the boot of his car...The guy at the pub who has a van load of Fillet stake selling at half shop price...its a deal a lot would do but its also a deal were you know your most proberbly handerling stolen goods, but it dont stop people.
Its same with expenses scams , most would take the p...but its not right and no excuse...we need to end this culture of gaining from someone else`s crime and having a clear conscience.

my fave barlow joke so far
"David Cameron has said former Take That singer Gary Barlow should be allowed to keep his OBE after he was hit with a bill for avoiding millions in tax.

"Getting rich by flogging sh*% to the British public and then dodging paying any tax on it is the tried and tested way to get on the Honours List," he added."

This is not as black and white as many seem to think.

First of all, it's the government that needs to close tax avoidance loopholes. Who likes to pay more tax than they need to? No-one, I would imagine!

Gary Barlow is an artist who has truly earned his fortune. People are free to buy or not to buy his music. If people didn't like his music, he wouldn't be wealthy. The same applies to football players etc. People do not have to support football if they don't wish to do so.

I am dead against utility company fat cat bonuses for a simple reason that unlike entertainment and sport, those services are necessities that people have to use.

In all honesty, we should introduce so called day fines (like in Finland and some other countries). This means that speeding fines are in line with offenders' earning i.e. someone on a minimum wage would pay very little but Gary Barlow would pay thousands.
