  • F.a.o. Nattie - Re Football

As you are our resident Football Pundit and as its FA Cup weekend, will you be updating your football thread ?
I noticed that you havn't been paying it much attention lately, and don't forget its the tie of the season Liverpool v Havant and Waterlooville.
Also Chelsea v Spurs at Wembly on 24 Feb (Carling Cup) surely that deserves a mention.
Forgive me for reminding you but you do see this could be of national importance and its got the potential to be a very popular thread.

    :okay::okay::okay:

If they are south of Manchester, they bear no significance as they are just poncy teams with egostistical players who, if they were on performance related pay would owe the team money rather than actually earn it.

IMO Spurs are gonna stuff Chelsea 3-1

See you start a thread to discuss a serious matter and you get someone who's totally delusioned, and who has become bitter and twisted just because their team isn't in the final, and is making stupid predictions of Spurs beating Chelsea 3-1 msl:.

Q: What is the difference between cricket and football ?
A: Football is slightly MORE interesting than watching grass grow.
Q: What is the difference between bashing your head against a brick wall and listening to talk about football ?
A: No difference. They're both great when they stop.
Q: What do you call a bunch of football fans with laryngitis (loss of voice) ?

Q: How do you make a football telecast MORE interesting ?
A: Turn down the picture as well.
Q: And if you want it more interesting still ?
A: Change the channel, or turn the TV off.
                Q: What's the difference between a fanatic and a bore ?
A: A fanatic* is someone who can't change their mind and won't change the subject. A bore is someone whose chosen subject is football.

You UNDERSTAND the offside rule, does that include active and non active players?

Yep. Afraid so. I've just tried to explain it to my son's girlfriend, but I stopeed before expalianing active and non-active. it was all too much for her, poor thing. I have given her strict instructions to come into the front room when MOTD is on so we can give her a practical instruction, using sky+ rewind. Somehow I don't think she'll be taking me up on that offermsl:msl:

But I must confess here, my son (now almost 18) has played since he was 5. Bloke has managed verious teams and is now in charge of under 10's. I have spent so many long years on the touchline freezing off various bits of my anatomy that it made sense to learn the rules, although I knew most of em anyway. i think I was about 10 when I got the hang of the original offside rule. But to be honest I've always followed the Beautiful Game, even before that. I have been known to run the line for junior footie as well.

Yeah well, its easy to know loads when you're watching it on the telly with the benefit of hindsight. I know most refs are, in my opinion a)crap and b)right up themselves, although not necessarily in that order lol. But I still wouldn't fancy their job. If I'd have been the ref this afternoon I'd have smacked Wayne Rooney right in the mush!

And of course the ones we get at the Hawthorns are absolutley rubbish and I could definitely do a better job than them. Don't they know the Home fans are always, absolutely without exception, RIGHT???????

Re Wayne Rooney, isn't that just a natural reaction to seeing him? Maybe it's me lol

The quality has gone right down over the years I think, too many seem to be in it for the limelight rather than wanting to oversee a good game thesedays.

Then again, the Hawthorns, you can't blame the ref's there, that's more to do with the home team being.....not as good as the Villa lol
