That was the week that was...... With David Frost and Millicent Martin that is what I remember most and his outright interviews with high profile people.

I recently watched the film of the Nixon Tapes (Watergate) again.

When Nixon said to Frost "When the President does it, that means it's not illegal", a lesser interviewer may have made a meal of the statement.

Frost said nothing; just let it hang there like an overripe plum that everyone & his dog wanted to pick!

          Sheer genius.

Indeed so, Chaz. He could get his interviewee to actually volunteer the information that others would have to prise from their lips !!! Whether it was truth or lies - he could get to the bottom of it.

I feel sure that St. Peter will bid him "Hello. Good evening, and welcome."

I think his best interview was with Emil Savundra, the insurance scamster, in a trial by television.

              It's gripping stuff.

I remember watching some of his high profile interviews (with my Dad) and saying " He (Frost) can't ask THAT?????" and my Dad saying "He just did, child,,he just did" Dad respected very few people,,but Frost was high on the list.

I totally concur with EXC......the interview with Savundra is up there with the Nixon one.

LOL - I remember Savundra, but never watched the Frost interview with him until just then. I wonder if the likes of him - with his charming disdain for the British Public as mere peasants - helped to create the wonderful character Edmund Blackadder in years to come - some great characters emerged from 'The Frost Report' !!!

                  As for the 'forthcoming book...'
