I read something about this research sometime ago, he didn't only use dogs for his research, apparently he used human "guinea pigs" in his experiments.

Taking direct measurements of the production of saliva upon various stimuli(yuk)

chaz love i went to an inner city secondary school, where advance physics was "Boyfriend + no condom = pregnant!"
