Jon - I am not in South Yorkshire, and my brother definitely isn't in England! I am afraid there is not accounting for my brothers politics, it certainly isn't genetics. And I agree there is no accounting for love - there is also no accounting for laziness, which is far more my sisters problem!

And actually - I do not want to hear from my mum for a very long time. There's some of the Irish fey in my family. When my grandmother died, the week before it happened she was visited by her (dead) mother. When my mum died she was visited by her (dead) grandmother (who brought her up). There is a long tradition on the Irish side of this. My mum can stay wherever the hell she is!!!!

or in my O/H's case "My brothers are moving in!!"

my nephew came up to me once and at the top of his voice shouted "Aunty P, I have nits in my hair" quite happily, needless to say EVERYONE got headrined!!

A phonecall from an accquaintance of mine normally starts "Hi" and roughly translates as "Can I borrow"
