Very sad news, the slightly bonkers, but incredibly intelligent Sir Patrick Moore has passed away aged 89.

I shall miss him. I loved some of his 'Sky at Night' programs, and one of my memories of him is watching him on TV playing his vibes and generally fooling around on stage. A great scientist, a good sport - and a true British Eccentric.
