Please, please sign this, its so important, I am a meat eater but I do believe that if the animals are good enough for us to eat then we should at least let them be despatched humanely.

signed. I eat meat about 2/3 times a week. I abhor any form of cruelty. Unfortunately, as I said in the comment box it is a sign of today's society, getting a kick out of inflicting pain, torture or killings on innocent animals, whether pets or livestock.

Signed. See also www.grandin.com . Cruelty to animals is also often a result of ignorance and greed. It is intolerable in any form and if we're going to eat them or kill them for any other reason it must be done without causing pain or fear but with the utmost compassion, mindfulness and respect.

"Although scalar fields are Lorentz scalars, they may transform nontrivially under other symmetries, such as flavour or isospin. For example, the pion is invariant under the restricted Lorentz group, but is an isospin triplet (meaning it transforms like a three component vector under the SU(2) isospin symmetry). Furthermore, it picks up a negative phase under parity inversion, so it transforms nontrivially under the full Lorentz group; such particles are called pseudoscalar rather than scalar. Most mesons are pseudoscalar particles." (finally explained to a captivated Celestine by Professor Brian Cox on Wednesday 27th June 2012 )

Big row round our way about school kids and halal meat, they are refusing to eat the meat cause it has been stunned before it has it's throat cut. I say if that's the case let them eat cake.

I've got to admit Di, I won't eat halal either or kosha, I believe that the animal deserves respect in its departure. I've completely given up Lamb, only eat vegetarian mince now and am slowly giving up things like basic sausages, burgers etc not only because of the way they go but for health reasons too, there's a butchers round here that does 100% meat sausages and burgers etc, they are excellent.
