  • Sleepless in Seattle hardly

Well peeps from this posting Im awake again
I have got to seriously get my brain to sleep at least I can trawl around the world from my sofa at this time A big hi to Bill K who I gather never sleeps at night either and looking at the posters tonight neither does Labman
Any good tips on going to sleep and staying asleep would be much appreciated and I apologise for any mispelt words I think I just made 2 whoops. Im no superhero and I have not switched the TV on just me and my trusty old laptop that did not get replaced when a drink fell on it because the insurance expected me to get it fixed it cost £90 quid and the excess was £50 what a stitch up replacement cover is a load of crap remind to change insurance companies.
Well Im not tired yet so going to count some sheep a few thousand before shut eye
    NIGHT!!!!!!

LOL - Hi Winner !!! I use the excuse that I drove night-shift taxis until recently - now THAT can wind you up !!! And I drink. Old habit, and I need to shake it.

Until I do, then I'm also condemned to walk these deserted hallways until dawn breaks.

      watch party political broadcasts!!

they will bore you to sleep!!

Seriously though. My recipie for a nights sleep. (As taught to me by my Cornish ex mother in law)

"You gets a load of milk, and warm it slowly. Then as it warms, add a dessert spoon of black treacle. You warm it until the treacle's melted and add cinnamon and nutmeg and stir. Pour it in to a mug and drinks it down hot!"

Makes me tired just thinking about it!

Do you like reading Winner? To me reading is a non negotiable essential to falling asleep.

I have a Kindle now so I can work my way through all the FREE classics I always meant to read. At the moment I'm reading Anna Karenina; hard going at first but so worth persevering with.

I find that I need to read for about 20-30 mins. It's like escaping to another world, a brilliant way to forget your worries and cares.

I find my eyes get droopy and I then can drift off to sleep easily.
"Although scalar fields are Lorentz scalars, they may transform nontrivially under other symmetries, such as flavour or isospin. For example, the pion is invariant under the restricted Lorentz group, but is an isospin triplet (meaning it transforms like a three component vector under the SU(2) isospin symmetry). Furthermore, it picks up a negative phase under parity inversion, so it transforms nontrivially under the full Lorentz group; such particles are called pseudoscalar rather than scalar. Most mesons are pseudoscalar particles." (finally explained to a captivated Celestine by Professor Brian Cox on Wednesday 27th June 2012 )

I have the Anne Rice books on mine Cel, but the problem is, they are so gripping I cant put them down!!

Another good un is lavender in the bath!! an old trick i used with the littleys when they were babies and at that No bedtime stage, a bath with Johnsons nighttime bath, lavender and chammomile, and a warm milk/ovaltine!!

If that can get No 1 son off to sleep after going to Alton Towers, it can knock you 2 out!!

Books before bed a big no-no for me.. If I read before bed time I keep thinking, just another chapter, then just another. This often leads to me reading the whole book. Oh and def no sleep.

I had the 50 Shades of Grey trilogy on mine, read it whilst on holiday in Cyrprus, needless to say, naughty books, combined with hot sun and a couple of drinkies............

my brother swears by keeping a diary, and writing everything that is worrying him down so it is out of his head.

Another way to sleep is to get your partner to massage your shoulders and neck... sleep in minutes for me
