    Re: No vacancies

When i was younger before all this pc crap i and many others called our friends some of who were different races or nationalities names which wer not meant to be hurtfall in any way and were called names in return

it was all taken in our stride and no one went running to get the law or any orginisation involved, we have descended into a nation of moaners many whom have chips on their shoulders i have black and muslim friends who i regard as equal and i respect them for what they are not the colour of their skin or their religious beleiefs i can still take the pee out of some aspects of their muslim faith they dont get all huffy puufy and threaten action they take the time to tell me what goes on in their faith its an eyeopener and i have the greatest respect for anyone so dedicated to their faith they never preach to me and i being an atheist never preach to them.
IMHO any one who can be descent respectable and tolerant of others is welcome i still stand by by remarks that we need a proper immigration policy and full employment for all will it happen dont think so to many in this coumtry want it to stay he way it is thus keeping the warring factions in the war of words againts benefit scroungers(if they are) and any one not white anglo saxon going

      Re: No vacancies

I think there is sometimes a problem differentiating between an innocent remark and a racial comment. Personally i do not think that there is anything wrong with referring to a characteristic of a particular ethnic or racial group, we all have habits and agendas that are a result of our individual cultures and upbringing, as well as our physical attributes.
These are only surface differences in my opinion, the problem arises in my opinion when people infer that these differences reflect negatively on their humanity, and that they make them somehow less worthy than others.

I agree with Bill K we let all and sundry into this country, and i think to get into Australia even now,you have to have a job to go to,also i think what most people object to is that immigrants are classed as homeless so get somewhere to live very easily compared to some who were born and bred here who have been on waiting lists for years
My own son need somewhere to live when his son came to live with him, and he was told the homeless came first, and most were immigrants
        Is that fair NO
People we need like Drs and other highly skilled workers with a job to come to should be allowed in, i even know of people being allowed expenses for a car if they lived in rural areas,

Yes I agree, Davy. The British have always had a sense of humour, and I think the mark of this is to be able to laugh at ourselves. For years now, we have fondly referred to the Chinese takeaway as the 'Chinky' - or the 'open all hours' corner shop as the 'Paki Shop,' etc. For years now, the British have been portrayed as brolly-wielding, bowler-hatted twits, and known as "Le Rosbif" by the Frogs (erm, sorry - Western Europeans !!!) The PC Brigade have a remarkable talent for spotting minute deficiencies in the behaviour of "British ethnics" toward others, but seem oblivious to the reverse. Now THAT is NOT cricket, IMHO - and most certainly not what I would want to consider as 'British.'

I believe a simple question that should be asked of all those who wish to abandon their country of origin in favour of ours, is "Why ?" - and the answer should then be carefully scrutinised. The precision and determination of the PC Brigade could be put to better use in overseeing that scrutiny, methinks.

Yes indeedy, Val - and I'm not aware of any objections to that by the rest of 'The Civilised World.' It certainly doesn't seem to be viewed as a 'Human Rights Issue' at least - and yet the UK seems to be in danger of this, courtesy of the ECHR. It seems to work for the Aussies, so what is OUR problem with it ? Does not compute...

In order to move to Australia you not only need a job you also need a sponsor who will be liable for you if you can't support yourself for xx amount of years. Amazing really as years ago you only had to nick an orange off of Nell Gwyne to get shipped over there free gratis.

Friends of ours went a few years ago as aged parents (kids already there) and they had to pay into the health system over there and it amounted to about 10k for the 2 of them. They do now both have jobs they but will be retiring soon.

Yep that's what we've been told too, we are going to investigate it all when we are out there in the Spring.
