Other half has recently taken up train spotting (sorry, photographing trains), so that means endless hours stood around freezing cold train stations, I have only been twice, one to Preston and once to York (I go for a wander round town, fry up, shopping, stuff like that!)

This is in addition to his aviation photography, which he only seems to want to do when it's cold!

OOOh Delta my sympathy, the other half does planes, (not so sure about the trains tho,a re they not all the same?)

Fortunatley my OH only ambition now is to get the perfect shot of a plane passing in front of the moon, how difficult can that be?

Have been to the NRM, it was me that introduced it to him. His current passion for trains stems from the fact that he is 'building' a model railway in his loft, also we have an old railway throug Padiham that used to serve the power station and so has sparked an interest in local railways.

When we went to York the other week, my son astounded him with his way of telling the difference between the (now defunct) GNER intercities. Apparently there are 2 types, the type 125 and the type 225, he was pointing out the differences, and my son piped up with 'the 125s have handles on the doors, the 225s are automatic doors', quite an observation and one that himself hadn't noticed!

And Ian, yes they are all different types, as I am learning (not that I want to mind you!)

I enjoyed the NRM, was a good day out. Lol about your sol! I've got some random train stuff in my loft I think, that I wouldn't minding shifting for a decent price? Drop me a PM with the sizes etc of stuff that he's building if he wants any more bits for it? Not sure wtf I've got though msl:

Thanks Paradox, I shall mention it to him when he gets home tonight, he knows better than I do what he wants/needs/fancies!

I do know that it's the 00 gauge. And I have been the one assembling his cardboard kits for him (bridges, stations, shops etc), but apart from that, the only other thing I know is that he has a Virgin Pendolino, Virgin Voyager, Flying Scotsman and Mallard among others.

Well I think I'm busted! Just got back from lunch to find that my history was on down the left hand side of my screen. I never ever have this on so can only assume the boss has been checking up on me. Fortunately i'd cleared down my history before I left last night, so that only leaves this mornings. Beagles, OTR, Dixons, Discount codes, to name but a few. Oh bugger. Looks like i'll have to keep a low profile for a while. And do some work:cry:
