Son..... digital camera, bought and tested!
Daughter .... beads and jewellery making stuff, pretty much there now
Other half .... trains, trains oh and more trains

Assorted rellies..... getting flowers, jewellery (earrings made in birthstone colours with Swarovski crystals) and chocs, need to buy the chocs, so it's off to Poundland at some point.

Mother in Law..... easy sorted she's a JW so doesn't do Christmas! (but will get her a little something!)

Tree.....mahoooosive one bought in the sale at B&Q in January, paid about £17 for a £60 tree.

Decorations .... all boxed up in the loft ready to come out and play in a couple of weeks.

Food..... to be sorted.... probably gonna go for bangers and mash! will get a pud though, and have to have some cream, some squirty alcoholic cream.

As there is only 4 of us for Xmas dinner, there is no point filling a shopping trolley with hundreds of £s worth of food we won't eat.

            Re: Xmas Hints and Tips

Some of you may have done this already, but I thought it was a brainwave (for me, anyway lol)

If you're like me and have a "thing" about table themes, decorations etc, mine is red and cream this year. I really really really wanted these lovely table mats, all shiny red, but at £8 for 4, decided couldn't bring myself to spend 16 quid on new mats which I'd not use very often (I need 2 sets cos there's 7 of us). So bought a roll of tinfoily wrapping paper, not the slippy stuff that you can't cut or fold properly. Covered my usual boring wooden tablemats with it, and hey presto, lovely Chritmas table mats, the roll of wrapping paper cost 94p from Asda. And there's loads left to wrap pressies with.
Only problem is, cos we only use 4 mats usually, have put the others away somewhere, and can't find them. So only 4 done at the mo, Oh well, got 5 weeks to look for them.
            Is no longer here

              Re: Xmas Hints and Tips

Morrisons have started taking orders for turkeys, can order it now and collect right up to 2pm on xmas eve. Place orders at customer services.

If the rumours are true, there will be a mad rush again, and worse than ever due to shortages

You know, I may just be an ultra skeptical person, but does anyone else think that this ere bird flu thingy is just a ruse to make the birds scare at Christmas and so push the price up?

                  Re: Xmas Hints and Tips

There was already due to be a price increase on Turkeys due to the rising price of wheat, which in turn meant the feed costs increases.

Anyway there were plenty of frozen birds in Asda yesterday (that will teach them to come out without coats)

And the freezers are full of Turkeys as well

Not sure about pot noodles, but walkers will probably be doing their 'xmas' flavoured crisps again ;-)

Can't you get one of those Bird's Eye frozen dinners for one? I know they do lamb, beef and chicken, so you would have thought that they would come out with a turkey one

It will probably be really expensive for a special turkey & stuffing pot noodle, so buy yourself a chicken and mushroom one and throw in a spoonful of paxo, add the water and put it in the microwave for 2 mins - you'll never notice the difference.
