Re: Alternative Vote - Ayes or No's

Sadly its all meaningless. It will be fiddled. I am old enough to have voted "NO" in Ho Ho Heath's referendum about joining the European Economic Community (whilst we still had an active Commonwealth plus membership of the European Free Trade Area). Heath and his merry boys mentioned NOTHING about the political European Union we now have been forced into by our so called betters in the polticial elite. Even then more people abstained or voted no, yet it was called a resounding mandate for a the yes people.

Likewise the Welsh assembly government. no majority for, likewise lawmaking powers for WAG (less than 20% of the populace voted yes) yet it was a resounding victory. Now on May 4th using this AV thing, specific constituency candidates are named but the regiional extras on the gravy train you vote for a party NOT a candidate. and it is so difficult for Mehmet that he cannot get the recording officers to make the count until the next day.

    What a B****Y JOKE!!

Conman Cameron promised in his campaign a referendum on the Lisbon Treaty then backed down hence another lie because he might have just lost. So he appoints a Minister of Justice a well known Europhile who was quite prepared to pervert the course of Justice to cover his own political backside in the Matrix Churchill affair and allow three innocent men to go to jail.

I can't mention treacherous turncoat Cleglett without getting modded.

    And so it goes on.

    regards
    Garlok.

I am spitting blacking!!! Did anyone else see Professor Robert Hazell on the BBC News a few minutes ago.

What a complete patronising arrogant p**t!!!!

Making statements that we are all too thick and do not understand elections and care even less. "all the acedemic experts" say this or that. Its them that have caused a lot of this cock up we all are living through. Definitely the old saying we all know what an ex is and we all know what a spurt is and it rhymes with banker.

Professor Hazell get your acedemic backside off your armchair, forfeit your pension and go do some REAL work!!

            regards

Hoever charity, that does not excuse his rude patronising comments on national television as a sweeping observation about all of us!!

                  Hi Garlock,

I'm in no way supporting (or not supporting) his views, merely posting who/what he is for those people who hadn't a clue (myself included).
Just for the record, though, I too do not not like people who reckon they are legends in their own minds - especially when they are given a platform which has national coverage.
Suspicious of me I know, but I then question the motives of the platform owners, lol.

Re: Alternative Vote - Ayes or No's

Of course, Charity. I too have become perhaps over cynical and now have an entrenched dislike even hatred of arrogance rudeness discourtesy and so called experts who time after time after time are proven to be wrong. Perhaps I like many on LB have had just a few too many nasty kicks where it hurts from life.

I can remember my own boyhood hometown being rebuilt three times in my lifetime to some fancy architects career dreams yet what was built ended up worse than and more dangerous than the so called terraced slums they were clearing.

We now build "town-houses" all over the country.

Just a little example, there are many in all aspects of life in the UK.

                    regards
                    Garlok
