  • Pride of Britain Awards

Well I watch this every year, every time though I say it's the last because I can't be doing with Carol Vorderman.
I think it's really nice that everyday people are recognised for doing special and selfless things and have no qualms with that.
I end up crying for the whole of the show and it helps me to stop feeling sorry for myself (which we all do now and again, own up)
Anyway just like to know what you think of the show and our Carol lol ( I think it's because of her adverts for loans that first put me off her), followed by her gob.

My OH has a thing for Carol, I take it its because we both have the same intelligence, stunning good looks, fantastic hour glass figures and a special talent for talking crap.

Yes I agree with you, it's good to get a large dose of humility now and again, makes you appreciate how good your life actually is compared with the less fortunate, and indeed, how selfish we really are with our time.

Watched it last night, cried and cried. Makes you realise that your own problems are small compared to some others, and restores your faith in human nature.
Such a brilliant programme. And great to see Magdi Yacoub got an award, that man more than deserves it.

I enjoyed it too Sappy apart from our Carol, can't put me finger on why I'm not keen, but hey ho.
Yes what a lovely man he is, he is the kind of man all doctors should try and be like. I don't mean for his expertise as that is exceptional, but for his attitude and the way he loves his patients.

I didn't see it at all, cos at work, but got running commentary from my manager who's girlfriend was watchinb and kept phoning to tell us what was happening and how many times she'd cried. And I don't like Carol either, to up herself for my liking. And the loans thing really pees me off.

Lol i'm not a great fan of hers either,
For an intelligent woman she cant half make some daft decisions regarding those ads for loans.
I suppose at the end of the day its all down to £££££££ for her isnt it?
