  • The "Our Pets" Thread

    Hi

We've had a lot of enjoyment this last week on discussing our pets in serious threads by PF & Di30--so I thought I'd raise a specialized thread so we could keep them altogether for posterity-lol.

See my thread re Photobucket by the way first

    How_to-use-Photobucket

Start us off Enaid,Di,Scottishlass,Wendy,Marshy,PF,Nellie,Sapph y,Caspar etc...

    Re: The "Our Pets" Thread

My baby 'Bailey' is my avatar picture, he's a Maltese x ****zhu (Malshie) it took a lot of campaigning till I got him.
I absolutely love him to bits, he follows me everywhere.
We've also got 2 cats (3 and a half years old now), a Marble and a Mackerel Tabby, we got them from the Cats Protection League at the age of 14 weeks, bless them they are lovely too.
We also have an acquarium of tropical fish, which I'm running down as I want a new more modern one and want to have neon tetras only, I just love them.
Lastly we have a flaming great big pond full of Koi Carp.
One day I'll tell you the story about what happened one day when we were digging the pond out, but I'll have to get over my embarrassement before I do. In fact I do seem to remember that when this site first started there was an embarrassing stories thread, and its in there, along with some other funnies that have happened to other members on here.
I'll try to dig it out, could be fun to update it.

              Re: The "Our Pets" Thread

              Great idea Turbo

My avatar piccy is our red persian Phoebe, we also have Nellie (hence my user name as she's known as 'Nelliewops'!) who is a tortie persian and finally Archie a domestic longhaired tabby/white. Phoebe and Nellie are both four whilst Archie is ten.

Phoebe is very dainty and sleeps betwen us in bed at night. She loves to wash my hair with her tongue! It's a good job Nellie doesn't do that as she has the breath of a dustbin, despite my best efforts to clean her teeth, lol, and OH says in appearance she resembles a barbary ape! Phoebe and Nellie are both indoor cats but Archie is street-wise and spends most of his time out hunting. For a ten year old he is very playful still and our vet recently said he has perfect teeth considering his age - so my feline teeth cleaning regime hasn't been a total waste of time!

Like Sapphire we also have a pond full of koi carp and a few rather large goldfish which we inherited when we purchased this house, but we don't seem to be very good with these and their numbers are diminishing somewhat.

We did also have Libby (Liberty Lily) who unfortunately passed away last Christmas. He was a shaded silver exotic shorthaired persian. Note I say 'he' which doesn't really go with the name 'Liberty Lily', lol, but when we bought him the breeder believed he was a girl so he was named accordingly. All the toys, bed etc etc we bought him were pink and he did turn out to be more feminine than our two girls - so I think we somewhat influenced his sexuality! When he was with us Libby's favourite pastime was to climb into the bath then wail at the top of his voice till someone turned on the tap in order for him to drink from it!

I'd love another kitten, but OH says not until we move so maybe next year!

I'll have to dig out some other pics and post them up

              Nellie x
