    I was in a hotel last night when I heard that news on the TV. A very sad day. I met the man once after a match against Hawick whilst on a rugby tour. To talk to him, you'd never have guessed he was probably the most famous 'voice' in world rugby...and one of the most knowledgable too !!

    A great loss as, in common with many rugby-mad Welshman, he was indeed the voice of rugby throughout my childhood and for all of my playing career. A well-respected man as the thousands of tributes from all around the world to the BBC website testifies !!
