  • Scam Baiting

I know that myself and a couple of others on this forum are already baiting would be Nigerian (and other) scammers. You know the sort, they email you with promises of riches, but you have to pay fees (legal etc) before you can get them. We basically waste as much of their time as possible, and stop real victims getting scammed (or at least as much as possible)

    It's great fun!

    Come and play:

    www.419eater.com

P.S. Don't use any real details or real email accounts to do this, they are criminals after all.

My current scamming account is used by a Mr Michael Hock (Mike Hock geddit )

any of the more experienced scambaiters want to add anything to this?

    Re: Scam Baiting

    Hi

I am currently deep in a few baits, of which one lad is expecting me to land in Nigeria at the end of this week.
Just waiting for him to book the hotel before i change my flight to a different airport.

I am also negotiating a new project in Korea under the Alias Myb0l Z'aritchie.
The lad is most keen to do some work for me.

Matt are you going for the 4yr logo contest?

        Re: Scam Baiting

I dont do the romance scams or the lottery scams.

I have just started on a church bait, waiting to see if he goes for it.

The only probs wirth weekends is the Lads dont do much.

Usually in the afternoon they pop up.

My catcher account is growing daily, so if you ever need any extra lads let me know.

Do you ever use phishfighting.com, I put a nationwide phis through there last night and left it running, so the lad has another 500 bogus logins to troll through, well it will keep them busy.

I've just signed up to b0mbardiers Lad Shuttle2, so should get some lads from there as well.

Don't really use phishfighting.com yet, as all the phishing emails I don't get to see, until they start filtering through to my baiting accounts. I was on the ladvampire last night though, what a fantastic site.

Who do you use for IP locating?

            I use http://www.ip2location.com/ & http://www.whatismyipaddress.com/sta...-an-ip-address

The first gives you more detail on the connection, but the 2nd I find gives you a better map.

My home IP shows me in Bournemouth, which is great as I'm in Manchester, not that I use any accounts that the IP isnt Masked.
I use Gmail & Hushmail for baiting.

They're the two I use. I'm using gmail, damn nice interface, keeps everything tidy for me

My IP location tools are the same, but I use JAP if I'm on things where I don't want to be traced.. then I'm in berlin

I agree, Those labels keep all my baits linked, plus it automatically groups all replies with the original sent message.

It needs a spring clean though, to get rid of the dead wood in there.

                  Re: Scam Baiting

I've been interested in doing this for quite a while now, but to be honest I can't understand the bloody instructions even.
So I know bow to the superior knowledge of you both. (grovel, grovel :o)
Perhaps you will now feel sorry for me and list the instructions in plain english please.

                    Re: Scam Baiting

                    1. Find a scammer (not difficult) I'm sure me or PK have got some spares.

                    2. Reply to their email with something simple to get the bait started (I'm interested, please give me more details should do the trick)

                    3. Make up any crap you can to keep them wasting their time with you.

I'm currently following a thread on 419 where the baiter has got someone going to London to meet them. (there's a webcam set up at the meeting place)

the basic premise is Bait safe. Don't use any real details, only use IP stripping mail accounts (gmail + hushmail are the two most popular) I like Gmail for reasons in above post.

The basics are simple, it's keeping things going without handing over any details etc that are the real arts. I'm still learning, I'm sure PK will have more to add to this.

                      Re: Scam Baiting

You can be elaborate as you want.
Maybe just waste time for the first couple of times.

The 'Lads' are usually working to a script, basically they just cut n Paste replies.
The idea is to get them 'Off script' and involved with you.

While they are chatting to you, they are ignoring real victims.

A good thing to do, as Matts says, is to set yourself up ready.

Get 2 email accounts, Gmail is great (googlemail), it doesnt show your IP.
You use one for recieving all your initial emails, and the 2nd for using to bait.
Also a good idea is to gert a free voicemail / fax service.
I use YAC for a UK voicemail and Fax
I use K7 for USA voicemail.

Once you are set up, you need some fresh lads to work with.
They are easy to get, basically they search guestbooks and look for email addresses.
So all you need to do is do a google for 'guestbook +mugu' and enter a comment plus your email into about 20 of them.
In a couple of day you will be getting a dozen fresh emails every day.
Pick the one you want to reply, and mail then from your other account.

And then play with them cos now they are your puppets, and if you keep tempting them they will dance for ages.
