  • Am I getting old?

I was browsing for daisys 3rd B'day present, and I found this:

    Argos - www.argos.co.uk

I can't believe it! Why oh Why would you buy this for a child, or am I getting old?

That's the spirit... start them young the Maccy D way.

    Wrong on SO many levels.

(I couldn't find a "shoot the feckers" emoticon, so the laser will have to do.)

Well if you have never or will never take your child to McDonalds then I agree with you, other than that I see no harm in it myself.

Personally I'd be more worried if they had one representing a dole queue.

I suppose it would be fine to mass produce a street cleaning dust cart as a child's toy?

What happened to toys where there is something noble for the child to aspire to? Nurse's and doctor kits, etc.

Or are we as a society trying to tell kids that it's fine to lower their sights these days? Because Hey, flipping burgers is FUN kids, and everybody loves the Palace of the Golden Tits, right?

Actually and I know this for a fact McDonalds is a very good company to work for and prospect for promotion is a lot better there than in a lot of places of work. Some don't even have the ability these days to sweep the roads and no intention of ever trying and no encouragement from the parents sat on their backsides to do so.

PS lol Did you play that too? lol

I always wished there was a dentist kit, so I could take the cat's teeth out.

Yes, I was a very sick minded child. :tinysmile_twink_t2:

I suppose you could combine it with a doctor's kit.... the child flips burgers, in order to help pay for the medical student lifestyle. You could market it with tins of beans and cheap lager.

                Re: Am I getting old?

I suppose I was just shocked to see McDonalds branding on a childs toy, I see some Mums having to drag thier little ones past those golden arches screaming and kicking. So I suppose its the whole brand awareness in 3 year olds that worries me.

Daisys dad taught her a nursery rhyme, that started with 'Old Macdonald had a burger' ee I e I oooohh! He thought it was hilarious, and I had to smirk .

But no I think Im going for a standard kitchen kit and hoover, but you could say I was being genderist lol

We didn't have Macdonalds when Di and myself were kids, not sure about up North but down here the only burger bar we had was a Wimpey or a Burger Van.
