Yes, it rained. A lot. Only once really - continuously from Tuesday until Friday! Saturday was sunny but cold. Sunday was lovely. Typical! Just when it was time to come home lol.
Showjumping in the rain, lving in a horsebox (in which the Luton leaks) in the rain, and having 3 dogs all wet and muddy is not the best recipe for a holiday. But we made the most of it and had an okay time.
Jess and Eben did okay, there were 29 in her class each day, 2 classes a day. On Friday she came 12th, rosettes only went to 10th unfortunately. On Saturday she went clear and went through to the jump-off, 12 in the jump off, unfortunately Eben was getting a bit tired by this point and they ended up 11th, just missing out on a rosette again. But then on Sunday morning, one straight round against the clock, he rejuvenated himself, they flew round clear and got 6th place!. Eben was really knackered by Sunday afternoon and made it quite obvious - jumped the first then said No Way - got eliminated at the second fence.
So we head home. A mainiac in a balck focus nearly killed us, but ended up smashing another car into the barrier then careering sidewards alongside our lorry for about 100 yards. Pretty scary. As if that wasn't bad enough, lorry then decides it will lose power at every hill, so it took us an hour longer than usual to get home.
Have attached some photos of Jess and Eben. We are going back in August - lets hope the weather is better then.
