We don't have an overall notification disable function, that side of the board is all user choice sadly. I haven't found anything on the techie forums about this being a known issue, but I'll keep looking to see if there's an easy way out.

Glad to hear it's slowing down though. Will have to make sure this doesn't happen again, as said we've sent mass PM's previously and this notification issue didn't rear it's ugly head.

Pkea, are you still getting them now after I made the change in your user settings? I haven't had a single one but I've always had notifications turned off.

One issue you need to ask your members co-operation with as it may affect future emails.

If lots of people report them as spam then any future email notifications may be tagged as spam by the various email clients such as hotmail, aol etc etc.

When we had the problem of email notifications not getting through, this was found to be the cause, bare with me a while and I will find the info and checking site for you.

Just checked my emails and neither have I so hopefully you have it nailed.

This issue gave me major headaches and with a lot of help from Curlyben (thanks once again curly) the problem was solved. In the end we routed our emails through a googlemail account.

Excellent stuff Pkea, with Tools not getting anymore either that makes 12 members who've contacted me to say they've stopped - so hopefully, fingers tightly crossed - that's the end of the issue.

Aqua has had a little nose in the backroom and it appears it is a problem with the mail server and we had 520 or something back saying 'undelivered' so it appears the system was kicking them out again regularly to try and deliver them all, and sadly even those that got it continued to get the notification.

Hopefully we'll be able to fix that so they system doesn't repeat send to all when there are cases of non delivery.

Just surprised as this didn't happen any of the other times we've mass PM'ed members with info, so it got us completely off guard lol (easy to do I do realise with us lot though)

In that case it may just be that your mail server IP has been blocked by one of those links I gave you. Ask Aqua to check the email server IP here>>CBL Lookup

Let me know how you/aqua get on and if you need any help just shout. I would send a few test emails to different providers for a bounce test.
