  • A Grave Mistake

After over two years and a bill just short of two thousand pounds, my late Father-in-law finally gets the headstone he would have wanted.

One thousand was paid back in March - guess why they won't be getting the balance?

It would have to happen to you! Typo in your post by the way too.

I bet that thouroughly naffed you off.

On a more serious note I hope it didn't upset your wife too much. I suppose it would have been worse if they'd actually delivered it on time

This would appear not to be uncommon.

These two are from the same graveyard.

It really is inexcusable. I have not managed to speak to anyone senior at the firm who did it - only the guy who sweeps the floors and, presumably, proofs the stones so I have yet to find out what happened. As for my wife being upset, this has upset her, but not as much as the reminder from HMRC, reminding him once again, that his tax return is late and he has been fined another £100.

It seems that being dead for over two and a half years still does not absolve you of filing a tax return on time.

God blimey Cet, I can see why you are peed off. Don't they have a spellchecker??? But to people who don't have a natural "spellcheckingness" instinct, it might not be so obvious. WHICH IS WHY THEY SHOULD CHECK THE SPELLING IN THE BLOODY FIRST PLACE!!!. I'M SORRY FOR SHOUTING BUT CRAP SPELLING REALLY GETS RIGHT ON MY TITS. It stands out (to me anyway) like a sore thumb. You could probably excuse them if it weren't for these days of modern technology etc, but it's not like we're in the dark ages and these people are yokels who don't have any resources at hand is it???

ps any spelling mistakes are the mistakes of my keyboard and my dyslexic fingers - not my brain!

Can people really be that slapdash??!!! This is absolutely disgusting and so disrespectful to the person who has passed away and their families ! Headstones are a very important piece of a grave and are supposed to be a symbol of life that was once there...and.its not as if these 'carvers' were filling in a job application form and could erase the spelling mistakes with Tippex !

Personally.. I think these carvers (or whomever is in charge of the headstones) should get a *ollocking and told to go on a spelling test.. before they are left in charge to do a responsible job like that !

Oh Cet hun that is just so bad, not only is it's a terrible mistake it also shows the lack of care and attention that is paid to something so very important, and as such is an insult to your Father in Law's memory, there really is no excuse at all for such shoddy workmanship.

Anyway's on a lighter note I cannot wait to see the letters that you will be firing off regarding this, as ever I expect them to be excellently written and great entertainment.
