Financial Compensation Scheme/New limits

I did not know where to post this, but if you do not have this info already, please do you think the best place to post this one.
This is in relation of the Financial Compensation Scheme (FSCS) and new limits, which may be an interest to some - who maybe have claims to deal with through this business.

On a related matter...

I have a SIPP and the investment in it is now valued at just £1. I can claim compensation for mis-selling. But I would like to buy the shares personally from the Pension Trustees without it adversely affecting my rightful compensation which I believe is a separate matter. This would also stop fees accruing for the trustees - although this might not be an issue for me in this latter stage.

FSCS is reluctant to offer a written response for clarification.

Has anyone any experiences on this one or know the actual position?
