      Re: FairE

Should have looked at your policy wording or FOS:
"Most policyholders assume that their insurance policy will enable them to replace with a similar vehicle a car that has been stolen or damaged beyond repair. Our approach mirrors this. We want to see firms making a reasonable assessment of the car's "market value" - and then paying this amount. The "market value" is the likely cost to the customer of buying a car as near as possibly identical to the one that has been stolen or damaged beyond economic repair."

      Glasses is the traders bible,
Insurers used to argue that following a write off they only paid out what he insured would have received if the vehicle had been sold into the trade prior to write off.
They can't get away with that any longer!

Tried everything today. Legal, third party insurers and my own. All of them quote the glasses guide price. They won't budge!
I'm giving up as too much hassle.
          Thanks everyone for your help

              Re: FairE

TBH, looking round the net I found cars (which on the face of it seemed similar to OPs) priced between £3000 and £3500.

Whilst you may be prepared to accept your insurers offer, is third party covering uninsured losses such as excess etc?

Me too, one with 24k was £3895 but my insurance co goes with Glasses guide!
I have to accept their offer. They refuse to up it. I have No excess to pay. I spoke to the third party insurers today, they just await my insure res final decision.
I have requested the engineers report.
Thanks for your interest and help
                Regards

I understand your position, but if I was in it the insurers would be getting a Letter before Action, or at least a complaint would be lodged with FOS.

                  You have a contract.
The wording of that contract (if I have the correct policy) clearly means that "market " refers to where the policyholder would normally shop for a car.
                  "Glass" does not sell cars.
Contract incompletely performed as YOU cannot locate a replacement car at Glasses' valuation.
