Does autotrader have any protection when buying a car through them?

When buying a car through autotrader do they have any sort of protection should there be anything wrong with the car, they can be partially liable , compared to not using them ?

You have no extra protection whatsoever.
Autotrader is solely an advertising platform.

This from their T&Cs:
"We give no warranties, conditions, guarantees or representations, express or implied, as to:-
(a) the completeness or accuracy of the advice and information contained on the Website or any website to which it is linked;
(b) the content of the advertisements for vehicles included in our database, including but not limited to the ownership, quality, authenticity of any photographs, compliance with description or fitness for purpose of any such vehicle"



I presume you have purchased a problem vehicle.If it was a private sale, and you purchased it without seeing it you may have a claim against the seller.

Would you have protection from the corner shop that had a postcard in the window advertising a car.
NO its an advertising medium same as autotrader
