  • Can’t get what I paid for

Purchased a cabin which was delivered and installed 7 years ago. We paid for full insulation. We had a water spillage so took up a section of floor to replace and found the company had not put full insulation in , just off cuts. They are now saying because it was 7 years ago it’s out of guarantee. Surely this is a consumer issue because we have paid for something we clearly haven’t got and would never had found out if we hadn’t lifted floorboards.

I believe the Limitation Act 1980 backs up your claim, Section 14A and Section 32, the clock starts ticking when you found out about the 'off cuts'. You need to seek some initial pro bono advice.

What damage, if any, resulted from this approach to the insulation?
