Yes we think we have problems - but I deal with Italian suppliers all the time and they assure me the banks are still run by REAL criminals if you know what I mean. sometimes we should count our blessings.

      Hi All,
I actually live in Southern Italy. Puglia.

Believe me, it's not just the bankers that are corrupt here. Every shopkeeper, every commodity supplier, they are all at it.

ENEL, the main electricity supplier are renowned to be thieves, all the mobile phone companies if you ever make the mistake of taking out a contract will just help themselves to your hard earned cash.

Major supermarkets will advertise, buy 2 get one free, they then charge you for all three and if you happen to notice they then say that their tills cannot deal with intricate transactions and for you to take your receipt to the customer care desk for a refund. If you don't notice, you lose out.

Having said all that, once you get into the swing of it and know the pitfalls its a fantastic place to live, here we are in the middle of November and the weather is still shorts and T shirts.

So, it can't all be bad. At least the weather is free.
