    Boris Johnson is taking his new job seriously as he arrives for work at his City Hall office on the Bank Holiday for his first official day as London mayor. After becoming mayor at midnight last night, he has promised to work 'night and day' for Londoners

    And I hope he is given a fair chance . He is not always as the press portrays him.I have met him - and he asked me a question LISTENED to the answer and replied accordingly - very unusual for a politician. Also he dealt with local peoples problems in a very personal way - and when I sent him an email about an idea once I actually got a reply. So I hope they do not judge himon preconcieved ideas.
