What is the scam?


The SRA has been informed that an advertisement for "New Land Solicitors" has appeared on a social media website, falsely claiming to be a firm of solicitors. The details of the advertisement are understood to be written in Kurdish, however the SRA has been advised that it offers legal advice and services in relation to immigration.
The advert for "New Land Solicitors" gives the telephone numbers 0121 554 9250 and 0788 574 5020 and the address 166A Rookery Road, Handsworth, Birmingham, B21 9N.
The SRA does not authorise or regulate a firm called "New Land Solicitors". Therefore, any business or transactions through "New Land Solicitors" using the contact details above, are not undertaken by a solicitor's practice or an individual authorised or regulated by the SRA.
Is there a genuine firm or person?

The SRA previously authorised and regulated a genuine firm of solicitors called Newland Solicitors which closed on 1 June 2009.What should I do?
