  • Councillors Not Paying Council Tax

It seems like there's a few councillors across the UK who are behind with their Council Tax payments:

COUNCILLORS across the North-East have been sent council tax demands totalling more than £11,000, The Northern Echo can reveal.

An investigation found that almost 40 of the region’s elected councillors failed to pay their council tax bills on time, with some automatically becoming banned from carrying out related duties as a result.

Nine Cardiff councillors ended up in arrears with their council tax last year, figures have shown.

In 2014, nine councillors were classed as being in arrears for their payments – down from 11 in 2013.

In 2012, six councillors were also in arrears, according to information released through a Freedom of Information request.

MORE than a third of Glasgow’s councillors have been rapped for failing to pay council tax, new figures show.
Over the past two years, 27 councillors have been sent reminder notices advising that they had fallen behind with payments.
The figures, obtained by Freedom of Information laws, show that 10 councillors had to be reminded to pay their council tax in 2013-2014 and 11 failed to make payments the following year.
So far this year – in four months – six councillors out of 75 have been sent reminder notices by the local authority.

Reminders, final demands and even a court summons have been sent to Blackpool councillors...for failing to pay their council tax.

Figures uncovered using the Freedom of Information Act show seven councillors were sent letters – including a summons to court – for failing to cough up their council tax on time in the last financial year

I wonder how many of them ended up with Liability Orders?
