      Bank of England forced to pump £10bn into money markets the day before the Budget

      The Chancellor faced more bad news yesterday when leading central banks announced plans to pump hundreds of billions of dollars into stricken financial markets to prevent a worldwide recession. The Bank of England said it was willing to lend London banks £10billion on March 18, and also offered another undisclosed sum on April 15
