I entered into a contract with Vodafone for £22.50 per month and for that we go free minutes, texts and data. The contract is 3 months old, and each month we dont even come close to using the service in full.
This month out of the blue i get a text message saying your bill will be £46.80. So i check the vodafone app and low and behold ive not used anywhere near my allowance, i check online and find that im inside my allowance but ive been billed for calls that shouldnt have been billed.
So safe in the knowledge that Vodaflop have dropped a clanger i decided to use their online chat service, after around 9 minutes waiting for a operator, i decide to call them. Soooo i speak with a chappie in their call centre, bizarely he calls me “Mr Paul” and tells me that ive called an international number , i pause there and ask “whats the number” to which he replies reading out my mother in laws landline number.
I point out the obvious error, and i then get told that in fact what had happened was Vodaflops systems had made a balls up and over charged me.
So i asked what exactly he would do to put this right?? as the direct debit was due soon. I am told that the amount to be debited has been adjusted so i wont get billed the £46 quid. I also get offered a £5 gesture of good will.
I couldnt be bothered to argue with the chap, so i took what he offered and got on with life.
Fast forward to today………………….. I check my bank account and good old Vodaflop have taken £46.00 from my account. At this point a sense of humor failure ensued and i picked up the phone to Vodaflops customer (dis)service department.
So i get told that this was all an error and they are very sorry and they will let me have a credit against next months bill. yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah right of course you will, over my dead bloody body.
I pointed out that firstly this was vodaflops cock up, they made the balls up, i have done nowt and when i told them about their balls up they tried to hide behind some international call shyte. Then when the truth comes out they say sorry and offer a £5 to try and smooth things over. They promise that they wont take more than the contractual amount then go behind that and take more than they are entitled to, and then have the audacity to tell me theyre going to keep hold of MY MONEY for a month.
I explained the difficulty of their position and the call handler said that they would refund me the money but it would take 4 or 5 working days. No apology, no offer of good will payment for the inconvenience and frankly the attitude was as if it was too much trouble to deal with.
Well Vodaflop i wont be using your services again and whats more the direct debit is going to be cancelled from here on and a formal complaints on the way……………………………….watch this space
