I had one of these calls from an Indian sounding guy called 'Mike' who asked me to download something (I was using a linux PC at the time)

Sadly though, many elderly or vulnerable people fall victim to this. The reason the calls have increased is due to people getting new devices at Christmas, they assume the victim will be less wary.

Kept one of these going for at least 40 mins a while back. Likewise, they were not best pleased to find out I was winding them up and to top it off was running Linux.

Had expected to see these reduce after the recently publicised conviction of one of the perpetrators however this is clearly not the case. We even get these calls on our business lines, which as we are an IT support company, we find bizarre. If we have the time we like to run them round the block a few times. If not we just hang up, usually just after someone shouts "OK we've got the call traced, hang up now" very loudly. Well it makes us feel better....and being in IT we are supposed to be juvenile...ok we do know it is pointless...
