  • Ministry of Justice and SERCO Call In Police

The Ministry of Justice and directors of SERCO, who provide prisoner transport and supervision services to the MOJ, have called in the police after evidence of fraudulent activity came to light in connection with a contract SERCO has with the MOJ.

Update: Just been given out on the BBC News Channel that a file has been passed to the Serious Fraud Office (SFO) with a view to a criminal investigation into SERCO's contract with the MOJ.

Whether anything comes of it will depend on how many MP's have their sticky fingers in the pie.

True, but if any MPs are found to have their sticky fingers in the pie, it will bring into question the justification for privatisation. The recent threats made by energy suppliers after Ed Milliband made it clear he would freeze energy prices for 20 months just goes to show the reality of privatisation, that is, being held to ransom by oligarths who think they rule the world and run the country, as well as deluding themselves that the world owes them a living and bonuses. The last Tory government had only 40% of the vote and although they claimed they had a mandate for change, in reality, they did not, as 60% of the electorate did not vote them into office. There needs to be a far-reaching investigation into Tory MPs and just how deeply involved they are with those who benefit the most from privatisation.
